Moustapha Diakhaté is a man who defies justice.

Recently sentenced to one month and fifteen days in prison, former MP Moustapha Diakhaté held a press briefing on Tuesday 5 August 2025 in Dakar, during which he reacted with firmness to the judicial decision against him. “I do not regret anything. I am not afraid of prison”, he declared to the press, assuming fully his propos and his posture, despite the sentence pronounced against him. Visibly upset, Moustapha Diakhaté has accused the prosecutor in charge of his dossier, Ibrahima Ndoye, of partiality. “I have a personal problem with myself. I do not consider him as the prosecutor of the Republic, but as the prosecutor of the past. These declarations occur in a tense political context, where the relations between some opponents and the justice regularly feed the public debate.
