The deputy mayor of Louga, Moustapha Diop, is facing a complaint for fraud lodged with the Section de Recherches de Colobane. According to the information reported by Seneweb, he is accused, with his chauffeur, M. Ngom, of complicity in an affair involving an amount of 700 million CFA francs. In return, l’élu would have promised to reimburse dès son entrée en fonction à l’Assemblée nationale. However, after the elections, Moustapha Diop would have missed his engagement. According to T. Ngom, all his attempts to recover his money have been unsuccessful. Not only has the promised deadline been exceeded, but the Member has become unreachable, as has his chauffeur, reports Seneweb. This case brought to light the opaque practices surrounding the financing of electoral campaigns and raised questions about the responsibility of elected officials in relation to their financial commitments.
