Agaie town in Agaie local government of Niger State, was left in shock and confusion after the disturbing discovery of a young boyās lifeless body in a parked car near the bustling Agaie market on Sunday.
It was gathered that the incident sparked fear and confusion among residents, who are still grappling with the unsettling circumstances surrounding the death.
Eyewitnesses said the vehicle had been stationed in the area for a while before the tragic incident which drew crowds and further fueled speculation about the cause of the boyās death.
Capturing the growing unease, one of the residents said, āPeople are wondering if he was murdered or died inside the vehicle. No one here knows who he isā..
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun said on December 14, 2025 at about 8pm, report received indicated that one Ibrahim of Fuyaka village via Katcha parked his Toyota Corolla vehicle with Reg. no. RBC 439 BM around Agaie market at about 9am.
He explained that when Ibrahim was about to leave the market at about 6pm, he opened the vehicle and unfortunately, he found a corpse of about a 10 year old in the vehicle.
According to him, ā The corpse was later identified as Haji Abubakar of Edoko village via Agaie, and the body was evacuated to the hospitaāl.
However, he further revealed that the vehicle owner has been invited and interrogated for negligence as further investigation is ongoing.
