Alcaraz, who is the two-time defending champion, has been considered the leading contender for the title even before the tournament started. He triumphed over Novak Djokovic in the finals of both 2023 and 2024, preventing the Serbian from matching Roger Federer’s record of eight titles. Additionally, many believe that Alcaraz benefitted from a beneficial draw during this year’s Wimbledon. Djokovic and ATP’s top-ranked player Jannik Sinner are positioned in the opposite bracket and may meet in the semifinals at Wimbledon.
