
The naira returned to depreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Wednesday.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira dropped to N1,447.65 on Wednesday, down from N1,445.39 traded on Tuesday.
This means that the Naira weakened by N2.26 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the naira remained flat at N1475 per dollar on Wednesday, the same rate recorded on Tuesday.
The development comes despite the country’s continued rise in foreign reserves, which surged to $44.92 billion on December 2, 2025, up from $44.67 billion on November 28th, according to the apex bank data.
