Nana Addo’s Statue At Effie Nkwanta Completely Destroyed By Unknown Persons  

The monument of past President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, situated at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, has been totally destroyed by unidentified people.
Launched on November 6, 2024, to honour the previous president, Nana Addo, the memorial first suffered injury to its left foot in December 2024. A gaping hole was discovered at the time, but some concerned citizens soon filled it with repair work.
Regardless, in the early days of January 13, 2025, the monument was found entirely toppled and destroyed, with considerable harm from the nose to the leg. Apparently, the tragedy happened at around 12:30 am.
Officials have launched an investigation to find and capture the individuals responsible for this crime. Although the statue has been a subject of public conversation since its setup, some residents questioning its relevance in the wake of stalled government projects and unfulfilled government promises in the area.
Some accuse the current NDC administration of encouraging their supporters to remove the statue of the original Ghanaian leader.
