Nasarawa police begin recruitment screening, warn applicants against fraudĀ

The Nasarawa State Police Command has announced the commencement of physical and credential screening for candidates who applied for the ongoing Nigeria Police Force recruitment exercise, while cautioning applicants to beware of fraudsters seeking to exploit the process.

According to the command, the screening exercise will take place at the Police Officers’ Mess along Jos Road in Lafia from March 9 to April 18, 2026, running daily between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the command urged all eligible applicants from the state to strictly comply with the scheduled dates and screening requirements.

Applicants are expected to appear for the exercise dressed in plain white T-shirts, white shorts, and white canvas shoes, while presenting required documents arranged in two white flat files.

The police listed mandatory documents to include invitation slips, certificates of origin, guarantor forms, medical fitness certificates, national identification slips, and original academic credentials, among others.

They warned that candidates who fail to provide any of the required documents would not be screened.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, stated that the recruitment process remains free and transparent, urging applicants not to fall victim to scams.

ā€œThe recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge,ā€ the commissioner said, warning candidates to remain vigilant against individuals or groups attempting to demand payment or offer illegal assistance.

He added that anyone involved in recruitment-related fraud or misconduct would face arrest and prosecution.

The command further assured the public that the exercise would be conducted in a transparent and merit-based manner, stressing its commitment to fairness throughout the recruitment process.

Police authorities encouraged applicants to adhere strictly to all guidelines to ensure a smooth and orderly screening exercise.
