El Malick Ndiaye was firm this morning at the beginning of the oral questions of the deputies to the government led by Ousmane Sonko. The President of the National Assembly threatened to evacuate the hall due to the disturbances caused by some militants present in the stands. “If you can’t calm down, I’ll be obliged to evacuate the room”, he warned. In an attempt to calm the militants visibly agitated by the presence of Ousmane Sonko, he called for respect for the conduct of parliamentary work. El Malick Ndiaye also recalled the legal bases which justify the presence of the Prime Minister before the deputies. He pointed out that the texts in force provide that the Head of Government must appear before the National Assembly every three months to answer questions of current affairs. A precision intended to restore calm and to recall the institutional framework of this very close session.
