Completesports reports that Wilfred Ndidi has landed in Turkey to complete a standard medical examination prior to his permanent move to Besiktas. The Nigerian international has finalized a permanent move to the Turkish Super Lig team, Besiktas. They came to terms with Leicester City this week to activate the release clause in his contract. Ndidi is set to sign a three-year deal with the possibility of extending it for an additional year. Additionally, it’s worth noting that Leicester City declined a bid from Valencia for Ndidi. Valencia, a Spanish club, made a last-minute attempt to disrupt Besiktas’ attempt to sign Ndidi, but Leicester City rejected their offer. The defensive midfielder transferred to Leicester from Belgian team KRC Genk in January 2017. At 28 years old, Ndidi had a significant impact at Leicester City last season, contributing one goal and five assists over 30 league matches, despite the team’s relegation. Overall, he recorded 18 goals and 22 assists in 303 matches for the former Premier League champions. Recently, several Nigerian football players have transferred to Turkey. Paul Onuachu from Trabzonspor, Henry Onyekuru playing for Genclerbirligi, and Victor Osimhen representing Galatasaray, reported by Adeboye Amosu.
