Nicknamed by some the “Fela Kuti of Senegal” for its advancement on its generation and its ability to produce hits without going into the bling-bling or the conventional love themes, Neega Mass returns with a new hit single: “4ème Sous Sol”, unveiled on 26 September 2025.. The title “4ème Sous Sol” is not anodyne. It directly echoes a recent statement by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, who described the state of public finances in Senegal as being “in the fourth basement”, a metaphor evoking a deep financial hole and a critical economic situation. In this context of political transition, where the government seeks to redress public accounts, Neega Mass transforms this image into a piece engaged.
