Tsakani – The Rabbit Netball Club played a friendly game against the Court Queens at the Ext 22 netball ground of their opponents on February 1.
The atmosphere was exciting when the supporters cheered for their favourite U13 team.
The game’s first quarter favoured the Court Queens, who scored five goals.
“In the second quarter, we scored three more goals. We played the first quarter of the game with enthusiasm and dedication. We made sure to stay focused and aim for goals.
“In the second quarter, we slowed down and undermined our opponents. They were strong and continuously challenged us through every half of the game,” explained Court Queens’ manager, Duduzile Ndimande.
Ndimande said they had to up their game in the third quarter by substituting players and changing defenders, centre players and their goal-shooter.
She added her team played poorly in the last quarter but was happy they won 13-11.
Rabbit Netball Club coach Vusimuzi Masola said they had their ducks in a row within the first quarter but lost focus after one player was injured.
“This setback made us play horribly in the second quarter. We improved more on the defence side of the game, but still lacked a bit on our shooting skills.
“My thinking is that my teams have probably gotten used to scoring in the bigger nets we use during practice compared to the ones used at actual grounds.
“During practice, I will incorporate different net sizes so they know the difference,” said Masola.Other results:
