The Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, has said that Nigeria should be thankful that it has the capacity to refine crude into petrochemicals and petroleum products.
Edun made this statement on Wednesday during an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.
He was speaking on the state of Nigeria’s economy.
According to the minister, it is very important to know that the resilience that the Nigerian economy has is coming largely from the fact that the nation has that refining investment by the private sector.
“I think we should be thankful at this time for the capacity we have in Nigeria to refine crude into petrochemicals and petroleum products.
“America is now rushing to open another refinery,” the minister said.
