Troops of 145 Battalion (Rear) under Operation EASTERN SANITY have successfully recovered a stolen Toyota Camry during an ongoing search-and-rescue operation in Abia State.
A statement from the 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, on Saturday said that the operation was conducted within the general areas of Uratta and Umuchima forest.
The statement, which was signed by Captain Mazinho Attah, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 14 Brigade, Ohafia, said that the troops, acting on credible intelligence, stormed the Umuchima forest axis and carried out a carefully coordinated search-and-rescue operation.
He noted that during the operation, the troops successfully recovered one stolen vehicle, a Toyota Camry, which had earlier been snatched from a kidnap victim, one Mr Bright Ochinachi.
“Investigations revealed that the victim was abducted along the Umuahia–Aba Road on 15 March 2026 but later managed to escape from captivity,” the statement said.
It explained that the recovered vehicle is presently in Army custody and would be handed over to the rightful owner after investigation, while intelligence-driven operations are ongoing to apprehend the criminal elements.
