This week, Nigeria has seen a 30% increase in electricity generation, approaching a peak of 6,000 megawatts (MW) due to improvements made to the nation’s old power infrastructure. Although capable of producing 13,000 MW, old transmission lines have consistently restricted supply, compelling consumers to depend on expensive generators. Sule Abdulaziz, the leader of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has reported that Nigeria’s power output has increased by 30% due to recent improvements in the electrical grid.
