
Nigeria’s foreign trade rose to N38.9 trillion in the third quarter of 2025 from N38.04 trillion recorded in the second quarter of the year.
The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, disclosed this in its latest foreign trade data released on Thursday.
According to NBS, the country’s international trade grew by 2.63 percent quarter-on-quarter. The Q3 2025 figure also represents an 8.71 percent increase compared to the N35.8 trillion recorded in the same quarter of 2024, indicating continued resilience in the external sector despite ongoing economic challenges.
“Nigeria’s total merchandise trade stood at N38,936.55 billion in Q3 2025, representing an increase of 2.36 percent compared to the value recorded in Q2 2025 (N38,037.52 billion),” NBS stated.
The new data followed earlier report in September which showed that total merchandise trade hit N38.04 trillion in Q2 2025 — a 20.05 percent rise from N31.68 trillion posted in the corresponding period of 2024 and a 5.59 percent increase from N36.02 trillion recorded in Q1 2025.
