Emmanuel Amuneke, the Technical Manager of Heartland, which has recently been demoted from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to the Nigeria National League (NNL), has set Monday, July 21, 2025, as the date for players and officials to officially return as they prepare for the 2025/2026 season, according to Completesports. Amuneke Implements Rigorous Guidelines as Heartland Embarks on a New Journey. The Team Manager of the Naze Millionaires, Mmaduabuchi Osuorji, verified the news in a statement provided to Completesports. The club’s Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke, has instructed all players, officials, and technical staff to assemble at the Dan Anyiam Stadium at 7:00 am on Monday, July 21. This comes as there are increasing rumors that the five-time NPFL champions could still participate in the top division during the 2025/2026 season, despite being relegated. Additionally, it was reported that Eguma has renewed his contract with Enyimba for two more years, aiming for success in the 2025/2026 NPFL. Osuorji mentioned that the upcoming campaign will initiate a new era for Heartland, focused on discipline, timeliness, commitment, and professionalism—principles intended to shape the club’s revitalized vision under Amuneke’s guidance. “Following the instructions of our respected Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke, MFR, I would like to officially notify all players and coaching staff of Heartland Football Club, Owerri, that they are expected to resume their duties on Monday, July 21, 2025,” stated part of the official memo. Heartland is aiming for improved performance. Every team member is required to arrive on time and fully prepared as we start getting ready for this new stage. Timeliness, self-discipline, and a professional attitude will be rigorously maintained. The statement ended with, “Let us return with fresh enthusiasm and resolve as we strive for even greater accomplishments in this new stage.” By Sab Osuji
