Gateway United has been relegated from the Nigeria National League (NNL), as reported by DAILY POST. The team, based in Abeokuta, faced a 3-0 loss to Godswill Akpabio FC on the last day of the 2025 NNL season in Uyo. Over the course of 20 matches in Group B, Gateway United managed to secure six wins, five draws, and nine losses. This defeat marks the end of their 15-year presence in the second division. Next season, Gateway United will participate in the Nationwide League One (NLO). Following the match, Gateway United remarked, “The journey takes a detour, but the dream lives on.”
