Obinna Akuchie has signed with Rivers United, a team in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), to enhance their goalkeeping lineup for the 2025-26 season. The club is currently strengthening its squad in preparation for both the CAF Champions League and the upcoming NPFL season. According to DAILY POST, Rivers United has also secured the services of ex-Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble. Akuchie transferred to Rivers United from newly-promoted NPFL team Kun Khalifat FC, where he played a vital role in their ascent to the NPFL. He had previously been with the now-defunct Vandrezzer FC based in Uyo.
