​NPFL: Ikorodu City and Enyimba Draw; Remo Stars Defeat Heartland    

 

Remo Stars continued their pursuit of a first Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title with a 2-0 victory at home against Heartland on Sunday in Ikenne. Olamilekan Adedayo scored the opening goal just a minute after the half-hour mark. The team’s victory was secured when Samson Olasupo added a second goal ten minutes before the end of the match. The Sky Blue Stars now lead the table with 57 points from 29 games. Additionally, Newcastle recently defeated Liverpool 2-1 to win their first major trophy in 70 years at the Carabao Cup Final. At Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, Ikorodu City and Enyimba played to a 2-2 tie. Tosin Oyedokun scored first for Ikorodu City just four minutes before halftime, before Mojeeb Odufeso equalized for Enyimba in the 66th minute. Enyimba then pulled ahead with a goal from Joseph Atule 13 minutes before the end of the match. However, Ayomide Cole managed to equalize for the home team during stoppage time.
