
Following the death of a female Strike Force officer, ASC Corps Ogbodo Ene Victoria, during a simulation exercise held at the Abuja headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday, February 27, 2026, the Commandant-General of the corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has condoled with her family, friends, and colleagues in the service.
DAILY POST recalls that the incident occurred during a simulation exercise on “Tactical Rescue Operation” of kidnapped schoolchildren by the Female Strike Force, organised to commemorate the 2026 World Civil Defence Day, an annual event observed by member countries worldwide.
ACC Babawale Zaid Afolabi, National Public Relations Officer, NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, stated on Sunday that the Commandant-General expressed shock over the unfortunate incident and prayed for the repose of her soul, while conveying his deepest condolences to all associated with the deceased, including officers and men of the corps nationwide.
According to the statement, Audi has directed a high-powered delegation from the corps’ national headquarters to pay a condolence visit to the victim’s family, assuring that the service will ensure she is accorded a befitting burial and that her post-service benefits are duly paid.
The NSCDC Commandant-General further appealed to officers and men of the corps to continue praying for the service. He also urged them not to be deterred by the unfortunate incident but to go about their normal duties and regard the situation as an act of God.
