This break follows an exciting matchday 7 on February 26, 2025, which saw a record of 27 goals scored, including three hat-tricks from different matches. NWFL Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi highlighted the significance of the mid-season transfer window, noting that it provides an opportunity for clubs to strengthen their rosters and improve crucial aspects of their teams before the resumption of the season. “We anticipate that clubs will take strategic actions to improve the competitiveness of the league,” she stated. Remo Stars Ladies are at the top of Group A with 19 points, followed closely by defending champions Edo Queens with 17 points, while Abia Angels and Nasarawa Amazons remain in the competition. In Group B, Rivers Angels are leading, tied on 17 points with Bayelsa Queens, with Delta Queens, Naija Ratels, and FC Robo Queens behind them. The transfer window is open until March 11, 2025, allowing clubs to make their final signings before the mid-season break concludes on March 18, with the next phase of the season starting the following day. At the season’s end, the leading teams will qualify for the NWFL Premiership Super 6 Championship to compete for the league title.
