Och’Idoma asserts that we possess sufficient strength to protect our territory against herdsmen assaults.

The Och’Idoma of Idoma Land, Agabaidu Elaigwu John Odogbo, has shown his heartfelt condolences to the families and communities suffering from repeated herder assaults in Benue South, labeling the murders as a deep scar on the Idoma spirit. At the Idoma Royal Banquet in Abuja, he urged for legal courage, solidarity, and wisdom in defending their land and maintaining the Idoma culture. “While we come together to celebrate our heritage, we cannot overlook the hurt and suffering brought on by the herders’ attacks,” he remarked. “We stand in solidarity with every family and community mourning the loss of their loved ones due to these tragic events.” They call for justice through their blood, and their remembrance should bolster our commitment to uphold our heritage while adhering to the law. The king urged his citizens to remember that their ancestors established a solid and cohesive nation that should not be permitted to fall apart in the face of current difficulties. “Our ancestors created a robust and united country. Currently, that legacy is being challenged, yet the essence of our forebears remains with us. We possess the strength to protect our territory, heritage, and respect, relying on lawful bravery, intelligence, and solidarity instead of violence. “I have great confidence that we will triumph over our adversaries,” he stated.
