​OFFICIAL: Liverpool Sign Kerkez From Bournemouth On Five-Year Deal    

 

Liverpool have completed the signing of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in a £40m deal.. According to Liverpool, Kerkez has signed a five-year deal at Anfield, and becomes head coach Arne Slot’s latest signing of the window.. The Reds have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong for £29.5m from Bayer Leverkusen and his club-mate Florian Wirtz for what could become a British-record £116m move.. “Liverpool FC have completed the signing of Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth,” the Premier League champions states.. “The left-back has undergone a medical and agreed a long-term contract with the Premier League champions at the AXA Training Centre.. “Kerkez becomes the Reds’ newest addition of the summer and swiftly follows the announcement of Florian Wirtz’s arrival last Friday.. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com in an exclusive first interview, the Hungary international said: “I’m really happy.. “It’s a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I’m just really, really happy and excited.. “After this, I’ll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can’t really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.”. Kerkez makes the move to Anfield after two impressive seasons in England with Bournemouth, for whom he made 74 appearances, scored two goals and registered eight assists.. The 21-year-old’s career at senior level began with Hungarian side ETO FC Gyor before he earned a switch to AC Milan in 2021.. He then joined AZ Alkmaar in the middle of the 2021-22 season and would appear 57 times during his year-and-a-half stint in the Netherlands.. He has 23 caps for Hungary to date after making his international bow in a UEFA Nations League contest with Germany back in September 2022.. So, he has been shortlisted for the 2024-25 Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year and was a finalist for the 2023 Golden Boy award, which recognises the best European-based talent under the age of 21.
