​Official visit of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to Kenya: a major step towards a strengthened cooperation 

  Nairobi, Kenya on 21 October 2025, the President of the Republic of Senegal, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, was received at the State House in Nairobi by his Kenyan counterpart, Dr William Samoei Ruto. This official visit marked a significant turning point in the bilateral relations between the two African nations, with the signing of a visa waiver agreement which symbolizes a common will to promote continental integration. It is a high-level service for a solid partnership. The two Heads of State engaged in in-depth discussions focused on strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation that have united Senegal and Kenya for decades. They welcomed the convergence of views on many subjects and were pleased with the excellence of existing relations. The exchanges covered a wide range of priority areas, including peace and security, trade, air transport, education, innovation, sport, tourism, agriculture, health and sustainable development. Among the highlights, the Presidents stressed the need for reforms within the African Union (AU), the United Nations (UN) and the African Union Commission (AUC), in order to better represent the interests of the African continent on the international stage.
