The President of the National Assembly of Senegal, Mr El Malick Ndiaye, paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates and held a series of high-level audiences with the highest Emirati authorities in Abu Dhabi on Monday 19 May. These meetings helped to consolidate the diplomatic, parliamentary and economic relations between the two countries, while opening new prospects for structural cooperation. President El Malick Ndiaye, who was received by His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, President of the Conseil national fédéral, welcomed the quality of relations between Senegal and the United Arab Emirates. His Emirati counterpart welcomed the shared values between the two nations, such as peaceful coexistence, political stability and mutual respect. It also expressed its appreciation for the recent reforms carried out in the Senegalese National Assembly, and considered it a significant step forward for the consolidation of democracy. On this occasion, President Ndiaye thanked His Excellency Ghobash for the warm welcome extended to his delegation and reaffirmed Senegal’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary, economic and cultural exchanges with the United Arab Emirates.
