Okudzeto tells the Appointments Committee,” I’m prepared for them if they want a second round of assessing.”
AccraMail– Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, has declared his readiness to encounter Parliament’s Appointments Committee for a minute screening if necessary. This comes amid what he describes as “desperate stain activities and false misrepresentations” by his critics.
The North Tongu MP addressed his opponents on Instagram on Tuesday, saying that they had numerous opportunities to examine him throughout their time in power but that they had not taken any action.
They had every opportunity to ask me questions during my screening, but they chose to abstain. They had eight years of power, and if they had any proof, they may have brought legal action against me, Ablakwa wrote.
His remarks come at a time when complaints and counterclaimers are the focus of public debates in the continuing vetting process. The latest chaos during the screening of governmental nominees, which caused a conflict between the Minority and Majority in Parliament over legal disagreements and the damage of equipment, has made the situation even more complicated.
Public sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, February 5 for a commission headed by Speaker Alban Bagbin to look into the problems. The committee intends to observe the activities of January 30, when the screening procedure was hampered by disagreements over schedule and the ensuing chaos.
Despite the discussion, Ablakwa, who has already undergone screening, has reiterated his commitment to join in a second round if required. He emphasized that his decisions as a Member of Parliament have always been influenced by his legal obligation to safeguard public assets and resources.
” If they demand a subsequent screening, I am prepared. According to him, it is not illegal for an MP to carefully and nobly defend public assets and condition assets in accordance with our legal oversight mandate.
Ablakwa also criticized his rivals for using what he termed” childish untruths” and assured Citizens that those who practice truth and justice would not be deposed. He reiterated his commitment to the function of the Foreign Ministry and President John Mahama’s policy efforts.
” I remain focused on President Mahama’s revolutionary update enhancements, which we are poised to apply at the Foreign Ministry. For God and Country. Ghana First”, he concluded.
Ablakwa’s unwavering attitude and determination to transparency have helped him become a key player in the ongoing political debate. As the agency’s public sessions begin this week, Nigerians are eager to hear more as they become aware.
