With thousands of Canadians waiting for their visas, the Canada Post Strike delay affects more than just late holiday presents. Mike Burton, from Saskatoon, has been waiting six months for his card, and his journey leaves on January 2nd. Burton is taking home to Mexico. Burton is concerned that this might not occur despite Service Canada’s advice that his card should be in by the 27th. I’m hoping they have some form of documents or temporary visas so I can still travel, Burton said. In a statement, Service Canada says any documents printed since December 16th may be mailed to customers, but noting there may be difficulties. In order to ensure timely delivery, Service Canada claimed to have sent a limited amount of held documents between the 12th and 16th to Service Canada practices. Trending Then

A visit has been made to pick up the affected customers. Canada Post claims to have received boxes held during the attack and that a sizable percentage will be delivered before Christmas.
