Osun NYSC honours two, as 23 abscond, 36 sanctioned 

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in Osun State has revealed that two members of the 2024 Batch C have been conferred with the state honours award.

It also disclosed that a total of 23 corps members absconded and 36 had their service extended for various breaches of the scheme’s rules, while 2,353 corps members of the batch successfully completed their one-year mandatory national youth service.

This revelation was made by the Osun NYSC State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, on Thursday during the passing-out ceremony for the corps members in Osogbo.

Agbor, who visited both Osogbo and Olorunda local government areas to monitor the exercise and ensure strict compliance with established guidelines, revealed that, “a total of 2,353 corps members comprising 1,047 males and 1,306 females successfully completed the service year, while 23 corps members absconded and 36 had their service extended for various breaches of the Scheme’s rules.”

Agbor also congratulated the corps members on the successful completion of the service year and urged them to remain law-abiding, patriotic, and good ambassadors of the scheme in their future endeavours.

Ayodele Babatunde Oluwasesan (Code No. 3649), who served with the Ministry of Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, and Omile Jennifer Onyinye (Code No. 3483), who served at the Comprehensive Health Centre, Igbajo, were awarded the Osun State Honours Award.

Presenting the certificates of award to the recipients on behalf of the State Governing Board, Agbor commended them for their dedication, discipline, and impactful service during the service year.

The ceremony was held simultaneously across the local government areas of the State in line with the directive of the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters.
