Oumar Sarr: ” the truth about the figures advanced by Me Ngagne Demba Touré… ”

Oumar Sarr, former Minister of Mines and Geology, commented on the recent dividend figures in the mining sector in the programme “Ultime Conviction”. He tempered the enthusiasm surrounding the increase, stressing that this increase was not linked to a new management, but corresponded to a normal evolution linked to the investments made by the companies. “When companies invest, it takes years before the benefits are seen. It is therefore a normal situation”, he explained, in response to statements concerning the performances of SOMISEN. In particular, the Commission considers that, in the light of the recent developments in the situation of the Senegalese economy, it is appropriate to provide for a review of the financial situation of the Senegalese economy in the light of the recent developments in the situation of the Senegalese economy. This sum is supplemented by nearly 30 billion FCFA from the Impost on the Revenue of Securities (IRVM), bringing the total revenue from mining to approximately 70 billion FCFA. According to Mr Ngagne Demba Touré, this performance is the result of a strengthened governance and strategic management of the State’s participation in the mining sector. The State now plays a strategic role, with an active presence in the boards of directors, which influences major decisions, notably on the distribution of dividends. Senenews
