The French-Spanish lawyer Juan Branco reacted to the decision of the Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko to decline the invitation of BPI France to the 11th edition of BPI France Inno Génération (BIG), scheduled for 23 September 2025 in Paris. In a post published on his social networks, accompanied by the official communiqué of the Primature, the lawyer expressed his relief.. “A great anguish had seized me at the announcement of Ousmane Sonko’s participation in this event, after the third visit of the President to Paris at the invitation of MEDEF, and his fourth meeting with the President of the French Republic in a little more than a year”, he wrote. Juan Branco considered that this displacement, if it had taken place, would have sent a negative signal regarding the recent history of Senegal. He refers in particular to the sacrifices made during the political demonstrations of recent years: “It seemed to me to defile the blood of the martyrs of the Senegalese revolution, and to send an irremediable signal to the world and to those who, in France, had mobilized to support them. I’m not sure. The lawyer also denounced the previous meetings with certain French political personalities, which he described as “reactionary and disloyal forces”, considering that they did not reflect the symbolic scope of the Senegalese fight for sovereignty.
