​Ousmane Sonko in Turkey: a morning in the heart of the historical heritage of Istanbul 

  In addition to his official visit to Turkey, the Senegalese Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, devoted the morning of this Sunday to the discovery of several emblematic sites of Istanbul. Accompanied by the Governor of Istanbul, Davut Gül, and the President of the Institution of Manuscripts of Turkey, Coşkun Yılmaz, former provincial Director of Culture of the city, the Head of the Senegalese Government and his delegation successively visited the Blue Mosque, the Great Mosque Sainte-Sophie and the Topkapi Palace. These monuments, true symbols of Turkish history and culture, offered the Senegalese delegation a glimpse of the rich Ottoman and Byzantine heritage. The Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko hailed “the strong moments, the bearers of meaning and fraternity between our two peoples”.
