According to Seneweb, the former coordinator of the programme, Pape Malick Ndour, has been arrested by the Division of Criminal Investigations (DIC), in the context of an alleged embezzlement of public funds amounting to more than 2 billion CFA francs. According to its sources, Pape Malick Ndour was initially arrested by the DIC before being notified of an exit ban from the national territory. The coordinator of the APR staff was then heard by the investigators. At the end of his hearing, the former Minister of Youth was placed in a position of surveillance, a measure requested by the investigating judge in the context of his judicial delegation. Pape Malick Ndour is prosecuted for association of criminals, money laundering and embezzlement of public funds. The facts complained of concern two sums: 40 760 512 F CFA for the restitution of the security before the final receipt of the works; 2 2 868 494 F CFA for the undocumented payments. These prosecutions are the result of a supplementary requirement issued by the procureur du Pool judiciaire financier. This requirement is based on a report of expertise drawn up in the context of the judicial procedure opened on the management of the product. Noteworthy: according to our sources, Pape Malick Ndour was initially unfamiliar with this procedure and only discovered the existence of this expert report at the time of his hearing at the DIC. Unless there is a change of programme, Pape Malick Ndour will be presented to the investigating judge this Friday.
