Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye is on an official visit to Paris for a crucial meeting with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron. This visit, which begins on Wednesday, is seen as an opportunity to redefine relations between the two countries, in a context of rebalancing French policy in Africa. According to the entourage of Bassirou Diomaye Faye, “no question will ever be taboo”. In addition to the traditional diplomatic subjects, the meeting will cover major and sensitive issues for Senegal. In fact, Dakar demands the total declassification of the French military and judicial archives on the massacre of December 1944. The objective is to obtain the recognition of the real number of victims.
