Parliamentary diplomacy: Senegal and Vietnam sign an agreement of cooperation in the National Assembly

I have the honour of receiving, this Wednesday, 23 July, at the National Assembly, His Excellency Trần Thanh Mẫn, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on a three-day official visit to our country. Our exchanges, first in a restricted format and then expanded, have been particularly fruitful. They dealt with several subjects of common interest and highlighted our shared desire to strengthen cooperation between our two institutions. We have in particular stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy as a strategic lever for deepening relations between Senegal and Vietnam. On this occasion, the Senegal-Vietnam parliamentary friendship groups were presented, testifying to our mutual commitment to fostering a close cooperation based on trust and respect. In this context, we signed a parliamentary cooperation agreement, marking a major step towards a structured and lasting partnership between our two parliaments. In the afternoon, we will jointly open the work of the round table on commercial and economic cooperation between Senegal and Vietnam, organized by APIX. This meeting, which brings together institutional and economic representatives of the two countries, aims to boost exchanges, encourage cross-border investments and explore new perspectives of collaboration. Several agreements will be signed in the early evening, notably in the agricultural, commercial, industrial and diplomatic sectors.
