PCN shuts down 131 drug outlets in Nasarawa crackdown 

The Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) has intensified its regulatory drive against unsafe practices in the drug distribution system, sealing no fewer than 131 pharmaceutical outlets across Nasarawa State.

This was disclosed by the Council’s Head of Enforcement, Dr. Suleiman Chiroma, while addressing journalists in Karu.

Chiroma explained that the action followed a three-day statewide surveillance and enforcement exercise aimed at sanitising the sector.

According to him, the affected facilities comprise 16 wholesale outlets, 31 registered community pharmacies, 51 patent medicine shops, as well as 32 premises operating without proper licensing.
