The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced the postponement of its scheduled meetings of the National Caucus, Board of Trustees, BoT, and National Executive Committee (NEC), citing ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party.
In a public notice issued on March 11, 2026, and released at the party’s national secretariat by the National Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Acting National Chairman, Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, the party said the decision followed the position of the Board of Trustees and was taken to demonstrate “utmost good faith” in a court-advised reconciliation process aimed at resolving internal disputes.
The meetings, which were earlier scheduled to take place this week, have now been postponed until further notice.
According to the statement, the postponement is intended to support efforts to restore unity within the opposition party.
“In furtherance of the decision of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, in pursuit of reconciliation within the party, we announce the postponement of the meetings of the National Caucus, Board of Trustees, and National Executive Committee of our party earlier scheduled for this week until further notice,” the notice stated.
The PDP also apologized for any inconvenience the postponement may cause to party members and stakeholders.
