Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has shared his excitement about representing Nigeria on the international stage. The Nottingham Forest star, who is expected to start in tonight’s Premier League match against Liverpool, spoke passionately about his experience playing for the senior national team during an interview with NBC.
Aina expressed how much it means to wear the Super Eagles jersey, highlighting the sense of pride and honor he feels every time he steps onto the field. “It’s a big honor to play for the Super Eagles,” Aina said. “Every time I put on the jersey, it’s a great feeling—one that can’t really be matched. I love playing for Nigeria, and I hope I can continue doing so for many more years.”
The defender also emphasized his enjoyment of playing in front of Nigerian fans, despite the pressures that come with it. “It’s really nice to play for Nigeria, especially going back home and playing in front of the fans. It’s fun, and I really enjoy it,” he added.
On the club front, Aina expressed confidence in Nottingham Forest’s ambitions for the season. He believes that the team can aim for the Premier League title and secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
“The key to our success so far has been sticking to the plan, working hard for each other, and believing in each other,” Aina explained. “We like to dream, and we’re working hard for a dream that’s attainable. Hopefully, we can continue the hard work and belief, and long may the success continue.”
