According to a statement on Wednesday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Ranham Nansel, the incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, when five armed men stormed a Mobile Filling Station along the Akwanga–Keffi Road.

Nansel stated that the assailants reportedly tied up the security guard on duty, broke into the office, and made away with an undisclosed sum of money.

He stated that patrol teams from the Akwanga Division responded immediately to the distress call.

“A hot pursuit ensued, leading to the arrest of two suspects identified as Abdullahi Umar and Yunusa Isiya, both from Rijiyan Zaki in Kano State.

“Three other gang members escaped in a black Toyota Camry,” he said.
