
Lagos State Police Command has announced the start of the physical and credential screening exercise for applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables for the 2025/2026 intake.
The Command said the screening exercise, which is being conducted in collaboration with the Police Service Commission, will run from Monday, March 9 to Saturday, April 18, 2026, and will take place daily from 7:00 a.m. at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.
In a statement issued on Thursday, March 5, 2026, and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Command explained that the exercise is for applicants who are indigenes of Lagos State and have successfully completed the online registration for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as General Duty and Specialist Police Constables.
According to the statement, all shortlisted applicants are expected to appear for the screening dressed in a clean white T-shirt and white shorts. They must also present specific documents required for the exercise.
The Command listed the mandatory documents to include the invitation slip with the assigned table number, credential screening form, original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by NIMC, OāLevel (GCE/SSCE) certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and Local Government or State of Origin certificate.
Other required documents are trade test or certificate for specialist applicants only, a duly completed and signed guarantorsā form with attached photocopies and passport photographs of referees, as well as original and duplicate copies of all credentials, neatly arranged in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.
The Command warned that any applicant who fails to present all the required items will not be allowed to participate in the screening exercise.
Applicants were also advised to strictly follow their scheduled dates and comply with all guidelines issued for the process.
Emphasising transparency, the Police stated that the exercise would be conducted fairly and without any cost to applicants.
āThe Lagos State Police Command emphasises that the screening process is absolutely free and conducted strictly on merit, in line with the highest standards of professionalism and transparency,ā the statement read.
The Command further urged members of the public to report anyone demanding money or any form of gratification in connection with the recruitment exercise.
SP Abimbola Adebisi reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to ensuring a smooth, credible, and corruption-free screening exercise for all qualified candidates.
