Rotary International emphasizes the necessity of completely eradicating Polio in Nigeria as efforts persist. This statement was made by Ibim Semenitari, the Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Zone 22, Region 27. She shared this information with journalists in advance of the upcoming visit from Holger Knaack, Chairman of the Rotary Foundation and former Rotary International President, along with his wife Susanne. Semenitari mentioned that the primary focus of their visit is to reinforce the fight against Polio and advance health initiatives. She stated that the week-long trip to Nigeria from November 1–7, 2025, would offer a chance to strengthen Rotary’s long-term dedication to eliminating polio, preventing diseases, and safeguarding mothers and children. “During the visit, Mr. Knaack will engage with Rotary leaders, government officials, and partners, including the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), along with other collaborators.” Likewise, Rotary International President-Elect Yinka Babalola emphasized: “Our common goal is not just to eradicate polio but also to establish sustainable systems that ensure families remain healthy and resilient.”
