Meeting in ordinary session on Thursday 14 November 2025, the National Executive Secretariat (SEN) of the LD Debout has sounded the alarm in the face of the political crisis currently affecting the summit of the State. Under the chairmanship of its Secretary-General, Papa Sarr, the party has delivered a severe analysis of the national situation and warned against the institutional and socio-economic risks which ensued. In its communiqué, the SEN states that it is “deeply concerned by the political crisis affecting the State, in a socio-economic context already marked by profound difficulties”. For LD Debout, this instability is not conjunctural: it would be the direct result of a “governance failure of the APR/BBY regime”, aggravating a situation already degraded. The party cites in particular: “an alarming public indebtedness”, “a compromised agricultural campaign”, “a persistent cost of living”, “a structurally worrying youth unemployment”… The SEN underlines that the current crisis is fragile even to the functioning of the State. The Communiqué warns that the political situation poses “major risks to the functioning of the institutions, particularly the legislative power”. To this end, the LD Debout appeals to collective responsibility, urging all public decision-makers to act with restraint and sense of duty: it is necessary, it insists, to “preserve the stability of the country and to promote a peaceful outcome of the crisis”. In the face of this worrying picture, the LD must reaffirm the need for collective engagement. The SEN reiterates its call for a national upsurge based on collective commitment, political clarity and the will to transform. The party insists on the urgency of tackling the structural problems that hinder the development of the country, considering that it is ” imperative to tackle, together, the fundamental challenges that hinder the development and the dignity of the Senegalese people “. Message to the President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. In a solemn declaration, the SEN directly invites the Head of State to draw inspiration from the reference works of the Senegalese political scene.
