The collective of families and victims of the tragic events that took place in Senegal from 2021 to 2023 and that led to the death of more than 80 people, thousands of wounded and prisoners organized, this Friday 29 August 2025, a press conference at the headquarters of Amnesty International. The face à face with the press was an opportunity for the speakers to demand justice and the truth about the circumstances of each death so that the authors, sponsors and accomplices would be held accountable before the law. The collective has also deplored the delays noted in the initiation and acceleration of the judicial investigation procedures aimed at shedding light on and establishing the truth about the tragic events. To do this, the victims and their families are determined to go to the end of their fight and that they would not accept for some reasons whatever, to remain silent. They thus call on the present authorities with whom they have fought, to join their struggle to restore the truth to the deplored facts and to honour the memory of the victims.
