The Prime Minister of Senegal, Mr Ousmane Sonko, received on Thursday Mrs Damtien Larbli Tchintchibidja, Vice-President of the Commission of the ECOWAS. The discussions focused on the state of play of the ECOWAS Early Warning and Response Centre, which is designed to anticipate and coordinate the management of risks to human security in the Community. According to the authorities, the works are at an advanced stage and the centre will be operational in Senegal in the best possible time. This regional tool aims to strengthen prevention, the sharing of strategic information and the capacity to respond rapidly to emerging threats. The meeting is part of the partnership between Senegal and ECOWAS to improve regional security and governance.
