Proceedings of the Court of Justice

The trial of militants and influencers Assane Gueye, also known as Azoura Fall and El Hadji Ousseynou Kaïré, ended on Wednesday before the Dakar Criminal Tribunal. The public prosecutor demanded three months of prison for each of them for “discourse contrary to good morals”. According to PressAfrik, Après les plaidoiries des avocats de la défense et le réquisitoire du procureur, the tribunal has made its decision by deliberation. The verdict will be rendered on 4 June next, leaving planer uncertain about the fate of the two accused.. “We have demonstrated that the accusation is not the right one and that it was a matter of facts of public insults addressed to two particulars. After that, we have asked that Azoura Fall and Kaïré be purely and simply relaxed”, declared Me Bamba Cissé after the trial. A rappeler que Azoura Fall had bénéficié d’une liberté provisoire, contrary à Kaïré who was sent to prison. Both have made offensive remarks against former President Macky Sall.
