The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, is the frontrunner to lead the ruling National Democratic Congress ( NDC ) in the 2028 elections, a new survey from polling firm, Global Info Analytics has found.
Professor Opoku Agyemang leads the field with 33 % of respondents naming her as the next leader of the NDC, followed by Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, at 24 %, Global Info Analytics said.
Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson was second, with 16 % of responders naming him as the NDC’s next leader. Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and the Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito, finished 4th with 13 % each.
Other officials who received statistically major components in the ballot include Klottey Korley MP, Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings, Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, and Minister of Defence, Omane Boamah.
The ruling National Democratic Congress is set to accept a brutal political struggle to get its next chief after recent leader, President John Dramani Mahama, steps down in 2028, having served his constitutionally mandated two terms in office.
