Promotion of peace in Africa: Kings, queens, princes and traditional chefs gathered in Dakar

Forty countries from the African continent and its diaspora attended Dakar in April 2025, at the monument of the Renaissance. They will be represented by queens, kings, princes and traditional and traditional chefs, but also by eminent men and women of science and culture under the theme “The African Renaissance: visions of chefs, customary notables and royalty of Africa and its diaspora”. This meeting is part of the activities of the Colloque des peuples africains sur la démocratie en Afrique (COPADA). It is also to be noted that the Conseil national des notables lébous du Grand Cap-Vert, chaired by the Saltigué de Rufisque Malick Ngom, is also a member of the Conseil africain de gouvernance traditionnelle. The scientific committee of this Dakar meeting, under the leadership of the President of the Republic Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, in partnership with the Senegalese Ministry of Culture, is directed by Professor Malamine Kourouma. This event, which Senegal will have the great honour of hosting in April next year, will also be the continuation of the grand colloque of the same kind planned in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital. Organisations such as the African Union and ECOWAS are also expected. What must also be pointed out is that the communes of Ouakam and Rufisque will host the demonstrations.
