Following the publication of the latest report by the Court of Auditors on the state of public finances, the Government held a press conference on Thursday to analyse its conclusions and draw the necessary lessons. This document revived the debate on financial management under the old regime and highlighted the structural fragility which calls for urgent corrective measures. “This report is a faithful picture of the current state of our public finances. It corroborates the findings made by the Inspection générale des finances (IGF) and highlights the shortcomings which it is imperative to correct with rigor and determination”, he declared. ‘We commit ourselves, from today, to implement ambitious structural reforms to ensure budgetary sustainability and to guarantee the prosperity of our nation’, he added, according to information reported by Sud Quotidien.
