3 tonnes of sugar and 3 tonnes of oil have been distributed by the Islamic World League to help the needy families. During a food distribution ceremony organised at the Islamic Institute of Dakar, Abdallah Al-Othiemin, Regional Director of the World Islamic League, recalled that this action is part of the divine recommendations in this month of penance: “this meeting is organised to help families in need.. I pray for the continuation of these activities which are part of the divine recommendations”, he said. In the same vein, Abdourahmane Tandian, adviser to the National Bureau of the Islamic World League, indicated that this activity falls within the framework of Islamic solidarity in this blessed month of Ramadan. “The Prophet Mahamed PSL has exhorted Muslims to work in solidarity and there is a hadith which says “Whoever offers a fasting person something to break his fast will have a reward equal to his own”. So, it’s for all this that we are here”. According to Sokhna Fatou Kane, Yaayou djirim, who appreciated this aid which comes in a very difficult context for widows who have to feed their children: “the widows thank you very much for this gesture you have made in their place. May Allah bring the blessing in your work and restore it to you a hundredfold.
