On Canada Day, two teenagers have been charged after a person was sexually assaulted at John Peake Memorial Park in Chestermere, Alberta. At 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the Chestermere RCMP received information that a person was being attacked by a group of 10-15 teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 years older. The girl was discharged on Thursday after suffering what was thought to be “moderate” injury.

Two teenagers, 13 and 14, were identified and detained by authorities. One of the teenagers was accused of assaulting another teenager on a single rape charge, while the second was accused of assaulting and making threats. As RCMP continue to look over CCTV footage taken from cameras in the garden to find out who various members of the group are involved in the assault, an investigation into the abuse is still raging. More individuals may have been subjected to sexual assault by the youth, according to the RCMP.
