The RCMP is presently looking into an unexpected turn that occurred in Lions Bay next month following a deadly disaster. On December 14, 2024, David and Barbara Enss were killed when a flood flooded across the Sea to Sky Highway, into Howe Sound, and their home was destroyed. The drop happened during a strong hurricane. 1: 47
The RCMP has today confirmed an investigation into the drop, as first reported by the Vancouver Sun. Lions Bay declared a nearby state of emergency in response to the fatal landslide. Mounties, nevertheless, are hardly releasing any information about why they are involved. John Clague, a professor emeritus at Simon Fraser University’s Earth Sciences section and a disaster professional, said the RCMP research suggests the possibility of human presence. ” This has been a riddle to me … evidently there were mortality, but the typical premise is you don’t investigate Mother Nature”, he said. ” Maybe some of these streets weren’t effectively constructed, they weren’t approved? I’m not familiar with the area’s history of creation, but I would assume that is what is behind it because I didn’t think of any other justification for the RCMP’s involvement.
